Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946 into a very poor family with 12 kids at one point, realized that she could escape the hardships of her life by using a imaginative mind. Prior to learning how to write and read Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own songs. The first guitar she received was gifted by her mother when she was eight. She began singing in a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. In the that same year, Gold Band Records was a tiny independent record label. The singer established a name in the local scene while in high school, however she dreamed of a bigger stage. She relocated to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted for the first time on Monument Records. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his television show that was syndicated. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after contracting in 1969 with RCA Records. The band split in 1974 after her own hits like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene beat out the collaborations.
