Liz Vassey began her acting career at the age of nine years old. She was later in over fifty shows and musicals. Swallow is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from University of Virginia, where she was a student of Middle Eastern Studies. Swallow later moved to New York City, where she received a Master's Degree in acting at the Tisch School of the Arts located at New York University. Swallow has played the roles of both the good and bad guys in movies and on television. She played an officer on Ringer and a wife of a detective in Southland and a bounty hunter on CBS' Pilot The Odds and a bank robber on Medium. Swallow also appeared as a mermaid in Flight of the Conchords, and in the independent film The Rift by Shana S. Sosin.
