Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story is a mix of the football scholarship of his family and service to the community. First family he is the youngest of nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon raised on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. The second football was that his father was the only of three brothers to play with Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the USA. During his three-year tenure as the starting quarterback for Oklahoma, the Sooners went 32-1-1 and captured two national titles. The National Football Foundation named him as a Scholar-Athlete three times time in the year 1975. Selmon earned his master's degree in educational studies. Fourth-year service in the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. After graduation, he landed in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers was all-pro three times and started an entrepreneurial career. In 1988, as an account liaison officer for First Florida Bank of Tampa, he worked with Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of ten outstanding young people across the country. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch larger and weighing 256 pounds in college as a player, captained his team during the season of 1975. In 1993 he joined at the University of South Florida as associate director of athletics. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave their Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
