Walker was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is of African American heritage, and an American. She has parents named Harvey Welker who is Native American as well as Julie Welker who is African-American. Her mother is an agent for real estate, and her father is a graduate in engineering. Her graduation from Germantown Friends School which is located in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood in 1994. Then she attended Harvard College where she earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1998. Welker is since the age of 20 with John Hughes who is a famous marketing director at Merck Philadelphia. The couple have two kids. In 2014 they began having an affair with one other. John, her husband is four years older than her. The relationship was enjoying itself, so they decided to keep their friendship going. On the 4th March 2017, they tied the knot. Philadelphia Pennsylvania hosted their wedding.
